Reactions have arrived in Trillian 6.6 for Windows, and video calls and screen sharing are now open to Trillian Pro users. We've been shipping 6.6 in smaller updates since last May, so this post rounds up the best of those earlier ones too.
Answer a message with an emoji instead of typing a reply. Sometimes "got it" doesn't need a line of its own.
Video calls and screen sharing, now with Pro
Video calls on WindowsShare your screen
Trillian Calls launched with video for our business customers. With this update, video calls and screen sharing Pro are open to Trillian Pro users on Windows as well.
Pick voice or video
The voice and video button now opens a small menu first, so a stray click doesn't start a call.
Edit or delete a sent message
Edit what you've sentOr delete it
Change a message after you've sent it Pro, or delete it if it ended up somewhere it shouldn't have. Deleting arrived last May and editing in June, so you may have used them already.
A quicker emoji chooser
The emoji chooser shows the emoji you've used recently, so the ones you reach for are easy to find again. Scrolling through it is smoother, with a little animation as you go, and the header graphics are new and work in the dark theme. Shift+Tab moves backwards through the chooser.
Bigger files, and a way to cancel them
Track or cancel uploadsAsks before closing
Uploads and downloads handle larger files and show their progress better, and thumbnails are sharper. Changed your mind? Cancel a file while it uploads or downloads. If you close a window while files are still transferring, Trillian asks you first. SVG files transfer more reliably, too.
Your organization's teams show up in the contact list, with a setting to hide them if you'd rather not see them. Administrators get policies for notifications, sounds, contact renaming, and how a chat window first opens.
Around the chat window
Send it silentlyFlag a conversation
Silent sending gets your message to the other person without a sound or a notification. You can flag conversations, and a scroll-to-bottom button takes you back to the newest messages.
Badges by color
With a setting turned on, the unread badge on the taskbar changes color with what's waiting, such as orange for a mention.
All told, the 6.6 updates so far have fixed more than 250 things.
