A buzz on your phone now gets the classic Trillian treatment: the screen shakes. It arrived on iPhone and Android today, and on both phones a contact's info screen now puts calling and buzzing a tap away.

Give it a shake

Give it a shake
Android shakes too

Send or get a buzz on iPhone and the whole screen rattles, much like a Trillian window does on your desktop. On Android the chat window shakes and plays a sound.

Keep your phone still

If you'd rather your phone stayed still, each app has a switch in Settings to turn the shaking off.

Call, Video, and Buzz, one tap away

Open a contact's info screen and Call, Video Pro, and Buzz are right there. On iPhone the whole screen was redesigned with the contact's details at the top, and channel member cards and metacontacts match it.

Mentions as pills

@mentions show as pills with the person's first name and photo. Tap one and that person's card opens, so you can message or buzz them right from there, even if they aren't one of your contacts. Chat previews say "hey @Lucy" instead of showing a raw address.

Fourteen accent colors

You can pick from fourteen accent colors, each previewed in light and dark, and message bubbles blur as they scroll under the chat header. Photos and videos transfer up to twenty at a time, so a screenful of thumbnails shows up in moments, and whatever you've downloaded in the last two weeks stays on the phone.

A menu on every photo

Photo grids got a long-press menu on every tile to save, share, open, or delete the photo, and you can react to it Pro from the same menu. Photos in the grid keep their natural shapes. Taking back a reaction Pro has a sound of its own: the pop, played backwards. And downloaded photos and videos are now kept for two weeks, instead of until they hit a size limit.

Try it on your phone

Grab the update, then buzz someone and watch your screen shake.
