Trillian 6.6 is a big release for Linux. Group chats become channels, read receipts go both ways, emoji move in your conversations, and signing in works a new way.
Say hello to channels

Group chats are called channels now, in every menu, dialog, and header, and they were redesigned along with the new name. The member panel sorts people by role into Operators, Voice, and Normal. A channel nobody has named gets a name built from its members, like "Ada, Ben, Grace, +2", and an avatar made from theirs. The New Channel dialog creates the channel and joins you to it in one step.
Know when they've read it Pro

Read receipts work in both directions. You see when people have read your messages, and they see when you've read theirs. The chat list shows check marks too, so you can tell without opening the chat.
Emoji that move
Emoji in your conversations are animated, in new messages and in history, and the set is JoyPixels 7.0. They play while the chat window is in front and pause when you switch away. Send one emoji on its own and it shows up large.

Emoji show up in display names, group and team names, and status messages too.
Your contact list, organized

If your organization uses teams Business, they show up in your contact list as folders, with their channels inside. Drag contacts between groups or into metacontacts, and rename a group from its right-click menu. If you've renamed a contact, Revert Name puts their display name back.

Hovering over a contact shows their job title and department from the directory Business, when those are available. Large contact lists start faster too, because avatars download only when they're needed.
A new way to sign in

Signing in starts with your username. Then you enter your password, and that works on our cloud or on a server your organization runs itself. Single sign-on Enterprise works too, and finishes in your browser.
Screen capture on Wayland
Screen capture works on Wayland, starting with the May 11 update. If you start a capture and think better of it, Esc cancels it every time.
And there's more

You can @mention people in a chat, and Trillian recovers the messages you missed when you reconnect. Messages edited Pro on another device are marked as edited, and Tenor GIF links play in the chat. Animated PNGs play as well, Save Image As saves the original file in its original format and quality, and JPEG photos taken sideways are turned the right way up. The app also has the new Trillian logo and icon, follows your system accent color, and handles HiDPI displays better throughout.
Reconnecting to a large channel no longer freezes the window, and a big backlog of messages no longer takes 20 seconds or more to load. You can play a voice clip more than once, and a number of crashes are fixed.
