When you connect to Trillian from a mobile device, that device registers itself for push notifications. Unlike some applications, Trillian does not blindly send push notifications to your phone every time you receive a new message. Instead, push notifications are only sent to your phone if you are idle on all other devices! This means that you can comfortably work at your desktop throughout the day without having your phone buzzing every time you get a new message.
